Watch Satellite TV on PC

PC Satellite TV Software Review

Will you still be able to watch TV on a computer, after they cut off the terrestrial/analouge signals?

Someone on another question of mine said you can only watch analogue TV on a computer and not use satellite. Does this mean that when they cut off/stop broadcasting on terrestrial in the future, that we won’t be able to watch TV on our computers?

You need a digital tuner card for your PC. Some of them have analogue & digital on the one card, and the really old ones are analogue only. (In my area all channels are now digital except for one. Therefore, I have both analogue and digital cards in my PC.)

These days you can also buy digital TV tuners built into USB sticks, which are much more portable and also suitable for laptops.

I don’t think it will affect computers, it’s streamed differently. I’m not an expert but don’t worry.

Well it depends on what tv tuner you have in your computer. If you have an analogue tv tuner in your computer, then it won’t work. If you have a digital tuner though then it will (and hybrids will work for digital but not analogue).
When they cut off analogue tv, thats exactly what they will do cut it ALL off.

You will still be able to watch streaming video via the internet from places like BBC iPlayer, and iTV CatchUp, and 4onDemand, but if you’re talking about having a graphics card with a TV tuner built-in in your PC, then this will work exactly the same as your regular TV, in that if it’s an analogue tuner you will not receive your signal.
You would need to get a Digital TV tuner card (about 20 pounds on ebay)

    Good luck.
