well you need to have a basic graphics card (no less than 64megs) and at least 512 megs of memory. you also need fast internet. those are all good for streaming free tv off the internet, i suggest joost as its truly free, and dont get those others that ask you for money for the "best" tv software, they lie and the software sucks.

If you are actually looking to tune in to television stations, you’ll need a special card with a built-in tuner. I believe the company ATI makes some very good ones.

If you are interested in web streaming, that is more reliant on your internet connection speed, rather than necessarily the speed of your computer. You’ll want at least a good DSL or Cable connection to stream video. The faster, the better!
