What kind of hardware or software do I need and where do I get it? I have a S-video output on my laptop, but when I tried to connect it with special cable to my TV, it does not work….

Use the S Video and connwct it to the TV, You are going to have to make sure that the computer is using the correct screen, so hit the FN key and then one of the Fkeys. For my laptop it is F4, but look at the pictures on each one. If that still does not work rigth click on the desktop and go to properties. Once in Properties choos display tab and then choose the secondary display.

Make sure your TV is set to the correct input for receiving from a S Video cable

It should work. These instreuctions are all for XP:

    1. Right-click on your desktop, and select "Properties"
    2. Go to the "Settings" Tab.
    3. You should have two squares, one with a 1 and one with a . If you don’t have these…I don’t know what the problem is.
    4. Click on the one numbered "2". Check the box that says "Extend my desktop to this monitor.
    5. Click on the one representing your laptop’s monitor. It should be the one labeled #1. Make sure "Make this my primary monitor." is checked.
    6. The pictures labeled 1 and two also represent the position of the extrended desktop. For me, my TV is to the left of my screen…so my #2 is the one on the left. If your TV is going to be to the right of your screen, you’ll want to have the #1 on teh left.

    This should work.

Again, if yours doesn’t show 2 screens, I don’t know what the problem is…sorry.
