Watch computer blue-ray player on tv?
Ok, so i just got a new tv (HD LCD) and i didnt buy a blu-ray player b/c my computer has one already installed. I thought that i would be able to hook my computer up to my tv and watch the movie.
Well, I was able to hook my computer up to the tv using an HDMI cable and it displayed my computer perfectly. Then i tried playing the blu-ray dvd (which plays on the computer just fine) on the tv and a note popped up saying something like "this cannot be played through this display operation due to protection" or something like that.
So, my question is- is there any way to get around this problem?
i just tried again and the exact words the pop-up said were
"The content is protected.
The content is not allowed to play in the current display mode."
So, i tried changing the screen display and that didn’t work! So, idk, i’m really frustrated! Please help!

you should be able to play it, i do it all the time off my laptop. you may have to change the resolution of you computer screen. one thing i must tell you is that if you dont have a stereo, you will have to use the speakers from the laptop, which may not be so great.
