Why Is Dora The Explorer So Popular With Kids

Friday, November 4th, 2011

If you ask any child either a boy or a girl who Dora the Explorer is, they can tell you in a heartbeat. Most adults who have children have heard, if not watched several episodes of Dora the Explorer and could tell you the names of the characters and sing the songs. But why is watching Dora the Explorer so much fun?

The first thing you will notice while you are watching the show is that the animation is very well done and the colors that are used are very bright but still easy on the eyes.

Dora is a spanish girl who is always kind spirited and does not let obstacles hold her back. Her and her best friend Boots are always looking to go on cool adventures during the show.

Everybody knows that kids have big imaginations, they constantly come up with things that devy the natural order of life and have fun while doing it. Dora is like this also and that attracts plenty of kids to watch the show.

Another thing that Dora is known for is her willingness to help her friends around her. Children who are watching this will learn that helping each other is a good way to progress in life and become more happier.

Plenty of viewers can’t wait to interact with Dora the Explorer throughout the show. The way you can interact with her is through songs and context sensitive actions. Interaction is a part of every episode and kids really get into it. They sing the songs and choose the right actions to help Dora on her journey. Not only that, she also speaks a little spanish.

The bad guy of the show is a villain named Swiper. His name represents what he always tries to do, that is swiping things that are not his. While in the act you should yell “Swiper, no swiping” three times and he will stop what he is doing.

Every episode Swiper tries to steal things and it is up to Dora, Boots, and the viewers watching to put an end to his charade. What this teaches children is that it is bad to try to take things that are not yours. It is important to teach them this at a young age.

The cartoon has so many fun things in it, like different songs. At the end of each episode there is a familiar song that Dora sings and all the children who faithfully watch the show know the song. While Dora is singing, you can sing and dance with her, also.

Dora the Explorer is not only a fun show to watch, it is also a great way for kids to learn how to speak and pronounce easy spanish words and help each other out.

If you can’t get enough of Dora the Explorer, you can play the latest Dora games.
