2009 was a year that saw great movies being made. This is evident by the fact that for the first time, the Academy extended the list of nominees to ten for the best picture. Every single movie that was present in the list was good enough to be there.
Out of the many great movies made, the ones mentioned below are my most favorite ones in my own honest opinion.
In comparison to all the movies that have been made about the Iraq war, Hurt Locker has made its own special place in being a lot better than them all. The director Kathryn Bigelow, whose ex-husband is also a director, has come up with a highly fascinating movie about the story of one man in bomb squad. You have to see the movie for yourself to appreciate its great cinematography.
If you appreciate the fine movies that are made, then you should not think twice about watching Avatar. While watching the movie, one feels as if he/she has actually entered James Cameron’s imagination.
Are you a 3D fan? Watch 3D technology like being never before, in the planet of Pandora. It will give the feel of actually visiting some other planet.
The movies mentioned earlier are outclass, however I have left the best and the most favorite one of mine for the end; District 9.
Director Neil Blompkamp along with debut actor Sharlto Copley has made this movie go beyond the expectations of everyone. The movie’s budget was approximately in 20 million’s range. The action was sure to take anyone’s breath away, and could only be beaten by that of Avatar. This is still saying something, while keeping in mind all the good-for-nothing action movies that Hollywood comes up with every year. (Keep in mind Michael Bay).
I absolutely loved the movie and the suspense about not knowing what would happen in the movie. Anything I say would be insufficient to describe how amazing this movie is. A must see for anyone who is fond of science fiction movies.
