Here we are again, for the 4th time, Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides; you will see many skulls and crossbones in this movie, did I mention the sexy pirates too? This is a sure fire hit and make anyone want to see it again and again. This movie is going to make quite the splash in theaters this summer.
Wouldn’t you want to visit the fountain of youth if it really existed? The story in Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides is to do just that, find the fountain and fast. When they find it they can bring back their youth. Ahhh, if such a thing was only possible, right? The site of the famous waters is up for grabs and has everyone searching for it.
Things heat up as Blackbeard and Captain Jack Sparrow both head out on a mission to discover the same thing. Fights ensue as they set out on their mission. It seems as soon as you find one, the other is close behind. The two of them need to stay focused if they want to win the coveted prize; it can get pretty hairy out there on the high seas. Being young forever can only happen if you reach the fountain first.
You do not want to miss out on seeing the 4th installment of the pirates movies; it is filled with hijinks and adventure. They will take you on an unforgettable journey out on the seas. The movies screens and sounds along with the shaking chairs will have you feeling as though you’re on the Caribbean itself. You will witness sword fights that make you feel as though you are a part of the movie.
Everything could be lost, however, if Jack sparrow loses sight of the prize in the end; he must be the first to reach the fountain. He needs to be wary about a woman from his past that he once loved. Chances are she is not there for the right reasons and he needs to keep that in the back of his mind so he can reach his goal.
IMAX theaters have many new features coming to theaters in the summer of 2011; you will have to make them a must see. Another riveting action film of the season is going to be Transformers Dark of Moon. New Line Cinema recently released a new Anthony Hopkins,branded thriller/horror film “The Rite” into movie theaters. I just watched it,and thought it was pretty good. It delivered a ton of intense exorcism scenes with actor Anthony Hopkins. It stars: Anthony Hopkins, Colin O’Donoghue, Alice Braga, Ciaran Hinds,and Rutger Hauer.
The film revolved around Michael and Father Lucas. Michael is a new Priest who has issues with his own faith. He doubts the Devil exists as well as these so-called Demonic possessions. The film often showed flashbacks to Michael’s childhood where he first started to develop his faith issues when his father died.
Michael travels to Italy to learn more about exorcism from Father Lucas because his teacher in America thought he needed to gain some real experience with exorcism since he doubted it a lot. In just a few minutes after arriving at Lucas’ house,Michael gets introduced to his first live exorcism with a girl who is pregnant and experiences frequent possessions.
Even after Michael sees a ton of convincing evidence of possession,he still feels doubt for the faith. The possessed girl spits out nails,blood,her voice gets crazy deep,her body contorts,along with other kinds of weird stuff,but Michael still swears she just needs to see a psychiatrist for this issue.
Eventually, Michael starts getting issues of his own,which were brought on by weird dreams he had about his dead father. Father Lucas tries to help him through his issues. However, Michael’s doubting faith gets put to a major test when the demon possesses someone he never thought it would possess,and if Michael doesn’t collect some faith fast,his life and other’s lives are definitely in danger.
Michael and his female friend were in the room during the possession,and things get extremely bad. Finally,with his back up against the wall,Michael is forced to face the issues with his faith,and issues with God so he can overcome what is getting ready to kill him. The conclusion was quite intense and really had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next.
The flick was extremely entertaining and interesting. However, there were some slow times during the film,and I found myself dosing off for a little while,but things did pick up in a major way. It delivered a lot of “can’t miss,” emotional moments. The exorcism scenes were amazingly disturbing and convincing. I gave the flick a strong B rating.

New Skyline sci-fi/thriller movie was recently released by Universal Pictures a couple of months ago. I finally got around to watching it. It was exciting to watch,but all the action and “edge of your seat adventures” lead up to absolutely no payoff in the finale. It was very,very weird. The flick stars: Eric Balfour, Donald Faison, Scottie Thompson,and Brittany Daniel.
The film revolved around a group of six partying male characters and female characters who have a great time,partying the night before,but the next morning, everything changes in a bad way as weird lights and noises wake everyone up. Then they realize this crazy,odd light isn’t good. In fact, it controls anyone who looks at it and sucks them away for good.
Naturally, everyone start to panic. They attempt to carry out a plan to get in the car,and make a run for it,but they quickly find out that’s not a good idea as the large alien creatures are everywhere,and they’re not nice. One by One, the group of friends get killed off and dwindle down to just two people Jarrod (Balfour) and Elaine (Thompson).
They come to emerge as the main stars of the film,but not victorious ones. They run around everywhere,trying to fight off the big creatures,along with the armed forces that have been brought in to fight the monsters.
Skyline showed a lot of graphic,”edge of your seat” moments,which included people getting sucked into the creature,people’s heads being separated from their bodies,Jarrod fighting his heart out to try and save Elaine,lots of guns being fired,and bombs blowing up.
The movie ended with a very strange conclusion,which revealed what the aliens were doing on their spaceship,but it had absolutely no victorious payoff at all for the two friends who were left. It was a very odd way to end a high,action thriller such as this. When I tried to exit the theater, I heard a lady say, “I want my money back.” It definitely was not a typical ending for a thriller movie,and was pretty disappointing for me. However, everything before that was really cool to watch,and it was never boring the entire time. I gave this movie a B-.

‘Unstoppable’ action/drama movie was recently released into theaters by 20th Century Fox two months ago. I finally got to watch it,and must say that it was a very,very good movie.
I liked this entire movie from beginning to end. It delivered a lot of “edge of your seat” scenes,along with high drama and action. The flick stars: Denzel Washington, Chris Pine, Rosario Dawson,and Kevin Chapman.
“Unstoppable” is based on actual events and centered around veteran train engineer Frank (Washington) and a young conductor named Will (Pine). They start off with a bumpy relationship as Frank is a bit upset that they’re giving all the good jobs to the new younger guys. Eventually, they manage to get along well enough to get the train moving on its course.
In another area,a very immature train driver named Dewey decides to hop off his train while it’s still moving so he can pull a switch. Needless to say, the train gets away from him with the air breaks detached and the controls are set to full throttle. Character Connie, who is the railroad controller,is made aware of the situation and tries to set some stops in place.
However, the train picks up too much speed for the stops to work. Corporate ignores Connie’s advice to derail the train before it makes its way to dangerous,crowded town areas. They end up trying to slow it down from the front. Unfortunately, that fails to work,and the train starts heading for a major disaster.
Frank and Will make a heroic decision to go after the train in an effort to attach and stop it from the back with a single,car train. After a high intense chase to attach the car to the train,they find out that it has to much power for them to stop it,and that’s when the real action begins.
They both end up climbing over train cars,pull the breaks on all the cars individually,and make their way to front to stop the train,which was full of highly flammable explosives. They were also being covered by tons of TV news stations. I really enjoyed this movie.
Unstoppable was pretty simple and to the point. A very dangerous high speed train was loose,and they needed to stop it by any means necessary. They stopped it in a crazy, intense plot that left me thinking, “Wow, that was awesome.” I gave this movie an A+ all the way.
