Hi. I have the following SONY computer and SONY TV:

SONY PCV-RS430G:

SONY WEGA KV-27FV16:

I have movies on the desktop computer that I would like to watch on my TV. So, I need to figure out how to connect the computer to go out to the TV.

1) What cable(s) do I need to buy, to connect the computer to the TV?

2) What port(s) on the computer do I connect it to?

3) What port(s) on the TV do I connect it to?

Don’t forget – I need video and sound to be transferred to the TV so I watch/hear the movies on the TV. Thank you for your help. :)

    1. HDMI
    2. HDMI
    3. HDMI.

Can’t be simpler. You might need to go into the graphics drivers (ATI, Nvidia, or Intel) on the computer and make it overscan or underscan to make it fit the TV.

No offense to the other people that left answers but here is the best answer.

You need a audio patch cable: 1/8 plug to Left (White) and Right (Red) RCA jacks for the audio signal out port (same one you use for your speakers). Like this one on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/3-5mm-AV-RCA-Audio-Adapter-Cable-iPod-MP3-3-5-mm-/290468404670?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a1441dbe

Plug the RCA ends into the One input on the TV, (they are color coded, Red to Red and White to White) the same one where the S Video port(its black and round) is (you will be using that too). That takes care of the audio output of the computer to the TV or just use the computer speakers.

Now for the Video signal: Get yourself a VGA to S video cable. The VGA end plugs into the port that you use for your monitor (Its blue). Like this one:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/VGA-SVGA-RCA-S-Video-TV-AV-Converter-Cable-PC-LAPTOP-/270627000532?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0
The other end is S-Video and it goes to the black round port on the TV in the Input one top port as shown in the manual page 6 (page 18 in the PDF reader) for connecting the video signal to the TV.

Make sure to get cables long enough to go from the computer to the TV or get extention patch cables to make it happen. If you want to still use the monitor get a VGA splitter cable like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-High-Resolution-Super-VGA-Y-Splitter-Adapter-Cable-/140438654433?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0

Ok and lastly to about cover everything I can think of if you like the video signal for just regular computer viewing on th TV get a wireless mouse and keyboard and sit back and enjoy the show!
