How can I convince my sister to watch LOST?
Every time I even mention it, she says "Why would i want to watch a TV show that is simply the same story as ‘Lord of the Flies’?"

I did this to my friend. Bet her she can’t catch up to were you are before Season 6 is over. In exchange offer something she wants that you can afford if she does. (I wagered a dollar,) But it doesn’t have to be money, just something she wants that you can get and give her.
This friend has been watching 2-3 episodes a night, and is on the verge of finishing Season 3 right now.

Whoaaa. LOTF and Lost are completely different stories, the only similarity is that they both take place on an island after being marooned there by a plane. LOTF focuses on the social extremities that take place when a group of young children try to make a central government. Lost focuses on the strange happenings on an island and the lives of the people that are on the island.
Tell your sister that she really shouldn’t judge a t.v show until she’s watched at least more than one episode…

It isn’t the same as "Lord of the Flies" and it would help if she started watching it right from the start. It IS complex and it can be worthwhile to buy the dvd sets if you’ve missed any episodes. It’s easy to get lost! Honestly, you can’t really make somebody watch it. They’ll only appreciate it if they truly want to. The show does go on forever, but it is great for those of us that are intelligent and appreciate a clever show that makes us think and question. We are in the sixth season now and the end is getting closer when all will be revealed. I’m sorry your sister isn’t interested, but she’s missing a good show.

You can’t convince her if she really doesn’t want to and I know this firsthand because my sister is soo stubborn when it comes to me trying to get her to watch shows or movies that I like (LOST included) and even though in the past she has given in and really liked them too she still doesn’t listen to me when I try it again. If you can get her to watch just one episode I would say don’t make it the pilot because that won’t be very likely to get her interested. If you can get her to agree to watch just one episode choose the first episode of season 2! That one has an awesome ending and in my opinion it will make her want to see what happens next and what has happened in the past as well…just an idea!

No offense to you or your sister, but Lost is not the same as Lord of the Flies. I guess it kind of is, but not really. In my opinion, Lord of the Flies is WAY better, just because Lost seems to go on forever and ever and it just gets boring after awhile…

maybe your sister is not very open minded, and maybe you can just say Watch it once, and if u don’t liek it, then i will leave you alone. But if she has never watched it before, then how can she compair it to Lord of the flies, unless she just heard someone say it was like LOTF.
I try not to let other peoples oppionions sway my judgeemnt, and give everything the honest 1 try. With exceptions of course lol
